about

Under numeric naming, Mecha/Orga presents his sixth album, "61:50". This selection of four diverse styled works includes: "13:49" (April 2008): Based on a field recording of a water pump in the desert of Syria. The material has been re-pitched in various levels and mixed in real time to result in a physically granular mayhem. "04:44" (July 2006): Feedback manipulated in real time as the only sound source in this harsh, jangling, short and sweet piece. "31:43" (May 2007): Feedbacking takes place again and becomes the means to building a huge wall of glowing sound-mass. "11:33" (August 2008): The only non real-time piece is the last one, based on a windy field recording made in Naxos island. Down-pitched as it got, details are brought out through the intangible sonic settings of the spot. "61:50" deals with micro-levels of change in sonic aspects, characteristic of Mecha/Orga's work, especially when performing live. And although crafted with reverence, his sound often becomes intolerable... in all its loud pseudo-stillness.
